Why I Practice NUCCA chiropractic: When I first got adjusted with the NUCCA technique, I noticed right away that my posture had improved. I felt more peaceful and relaxed, and aches and pains started going away.

I decided to specialize in the technique. I have worked with Dr. Meakim and her team for more than 7 years. It has been an absolute pleasure, and I feel fortunate to be part of such an uplifting and inspiring group of people.

Dr. Allen Stevens, D.C.

Dr. Allen Stevens received his Doctorate of Chiropractic Cum Laude from Life University in Georgia. He is originally from Southern California, and graduated from Pepperdine University with a bachelors in Sports Medicine.

Dr. Stevens has been under chiropractic care since he was a child. He suffered from asthma attacks throughout childhood and his mother decided to try alternative therapies for his condition. After seeing improvement, chiropractic care became a regular part of his life. Chiropractic adjustments kept his body in optimal condition while he trained as a competitive track athlete in high school and as a player on the Pepperdine University Men’s Basketball team. After a Low back injury he decided to become a chiropractor because it greatly helped his athletic performance. Dr. Stevens loves working with athletes; and after being exposed to the effectiveness of upper cervical care, he saw an opportunity to broaden his scope of practice and help all kinds of patients. He is passionate about and providing the best upper cervical care possible.

When not at the office he enjoys playing basketball and golf, hiking, watching sports, spending time with family and traveling.

Our Patient Care Specialists

We've been helping our patients since 2004, with key help from our specialists!

"When I was 21 years old I felt a sharp pain in my lower back, hunching over. My grandmother took me to the ER & they could only prescribe me aspirin & couldn't tell me WHY I become bedridden for a month. It wasn't until I started working for a Manual Manipulation D.C. that my life changed & I finally knew the root cause of that pain. The DC took X-rays and explained my scoliosis to me, that it had been with me since I was a young child, just finally feeling the pain & could have been corrected if I had known sooner. Even knowing how much Chiropractic helped me, I made the mistake of not maintaining my care. I came to work once again in the Chiropractic field with Dr. Meakim in 2015, missing the connection with patients and saw how much my spine had degenerated without care. Under NUCCA care I have slowed this degeneration & my insomnia has gone away. Now, It is my mission to help patients not make the same mistake I did and to maintain true correction at our office & make sure EVERYONE gets checked to learn about their own body sooner than I did, most importantly kids. I am here to help!!"

“I graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelors in Biochemistry in May 2016. During my time at SFSU, I volunteered on three mission trips to Central America where I provided medical, dental and public health assistance to the underserved communities. My passion for helping others and educating people about their health drove me to pursue a career in the health field. Originally, my intention was to become a medical doctor or a pharmacist. However, after seeing many of my immediate family members experience adverse health effects from prescription drugs, I was on the search for an alternative approach to healing. The patients of Healthy Life Chiropractic inspire me every day with their success and desire to attain health and wellness on a holistic level. It’s a pleasure coming in to work every day and seeing how our patients lives have been transformed by NUCCA."

I studied to become a Certified Massage Therapist and Health Educator at the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville over 15 years ago. Before graduating, I got rear-ended on I-80 where my car was totaled. I suffered from whiplashed and lumbar pain. My lower back would seize up often even with little movements and painkillers alone was not enough to relieved it. Massage therapy and Chiropractic care helped me recover faster. I learned then the importance of being in alignment, and how the career I have chosen can really make a difference in people’s lives. So early in my career, I worked for both chiropractic offices and luxury spas.

In 2016, I started my own mobile spa practice servicing the greater San Francisco Bay Area. I would often refer my clients to visit their Chiropractors but many of them are afraid of the “cracking” sounds when getting adjusted. I knew there were gentler techniques that gets the job done but did not know anyone who can help personally. It’s no accident that I’ve found my way to Healthy Life Chiropractic who practices NUCCA chiropractic, a light force yet powerful technique with inspiring results. To see each of our patients leave a little happier in every visit shows how effective and amazing it is to be a part of a team who are making an impact in people’s lives everyday. I am grateful to be working with incredible, kind, compassionate and fun group of people.
